Fly to Amman today, and on arrival transfer to your hotel.
Today’s full day excursion takes you east into the desert, stopping first at the Azraq Oasis, then to Qasr Amra, a country retreat for the Umayyad caliphs. Finally visit the enigmatic Qasr Harraneh before returning to Amman.
Today visit the fabulous Roman city of Jerash with its immaculate oval precinct. Afterwards continue to the nearby castle of Ajloun offers incredible views over the surrounding countryside.After visiting the castle, return back to Amman.
Head out of Amman today, stopping first at the biblical site of Mtn Nebo before continuing to Madaba famous for its mosaics, particularly the 6th century map of the Middle East in the Byzantine church of St George. Continuing south to Petra, stop to view the UNESCO World Heritage site of Umm al Rasas.
This morning, experience the most famous view in Jordan when the Treasury of Petra reveals itself as you walk down the narrow sandstone gorge known as the siq. After a guided tour there is plenty of free time to explore its more remote parts.
Petra covers a vast area, and today you will have a second entrance to the site for further exploration. You may wish to take the long walk up to the Monastery, one of the quieter parts of the city and one of its most atmospheric locations.
Today first of all visit Little Petra, whose water cisterns and dining rooms suggest it was a staging post for camel trains. Continue to Wadi Rum, and you will follow in Lawrence’s footsteps as you take a jeep safari in the desert and sleep in a Bedouin camp in the sands
From Wadi Rum, join the Kings Highway and travel to Shobak, one of the most impressive Crusader castles in the Middle East. There is time to explore the castle before you continue to your hotel on the shores of the Dead Sea. The rest of the day is free for relaxation.
Today has been left free to enjoy the Dead Sea. You may wish to simply float in the unusually salty water, or perhaps take a spa treatment using the therapeutic mud from the sea bed.
You will be transferred from the Dead Sea to Amman this morning for your return flight to the UK.
